Team USA finalized the roster for the 2024 Olympics, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how stacked this squad is. This might be the greatest basketball team ever put together. We’re talking LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Edwards, and Tyrese Haliburton. That’s twelve guys who could all start on any other team in the world. I know people always bring up the 1992 Dream Team, and that squad had legends, no doubt. But this 2024 group feels like it could actually compete with, and maybe even beat, that historic lineup.
What makes this team even more exciting for me is seeing Steph Curry finally suit up for the Olympics. He’s been my favorite player for years, and I’ve always wanted to see him play on this kind of stage. Now he’s teaming up with LeBron and KD, two of the greatest to ever do it, and it just feels unreal. These three guys have dominated the league for most of my life, and now they’re all playing together for the same country. Just thinking about Steph throwing lobs to LeBron or KD and then pulling up from deep in the next possession gives me chills. This is the kind of team you create in a video game when you turn the trade rules off.
The games haven’t even started yet. They haven’t even had one practice. But the hype is already real. I know chemistry matters and anything can happen, but on paper, this team is insane. It has experience, shooting, defense, athleticism, and depth at every position. I’m counting down the days until they finally take the court. If they play anywhere near their potential, we’re about to witness something special. Team USA 2024 has the chance to make history, and I’m all in.
