Steph is Top 10

Steph Curry is my favorite player of all time and anyone who knows me knows it. But even with that, I’ve always tried to keep it real when talking about where he ranks all time. I never let my personal bias decide whether he belonged in the top 10. Before 2022, I thought he was close, maybe just outside that elite group. But after what he did in the 2022 Finals, that changed. With that ring and that Finals MVP, Steph is now without a doubt one of the top 10 players in NBA history.

That title was different. It wasn’t just about adding to his resume, it was about proving he could win as the main guy. No Kevin Durant, no superteam talk, just Steph leading the Warriors past an elite Celtics squad with one of the toughest defenses in the league. He averaged over 31 points per game in the Finals and put on one of the greatest performances we’ve ever seen in Game 4 in Boston. That game felt like a defining moment. Every shot, every possession, he took control. He was never going to let them lose that series, and he proved it. But it wasn’t just 2022. This moment also made people look back at 2015, when Steph led the Warriors to their first title and was still somehow snubbed out of Finals MVP. He completely shifted the way the Cavaliers defended, opened everything up for his teammates, and still put up great numbers. But because Andre Iguodala slowed LeBron down a little, he got the award instead. Looking back, that should’ve been Steph’s first Finals MVP. So 2022 did not just complete his legacy, it fixed the narrative that had been unfairly attached to him for years.

Now he’s got four championships, two MVPs, a Finals MVP, the all-time 3-point record, and a legacy that completely changed how basketball is played. That 2022 ring brought everything full circle. It shut down all the arguments and gave him the one piece people claimed was missing. I’m not here to say exactly where he ranks, but I will say this with confidence: Steph Curry is in the top 10 all time because he earned it.
